Mushroom Pointer collects nothing.

  • No data leaves your phone. The app has no servers, no accounts and no analytics. It makes no network requests of any kind.
  • The camera is used only to look at what is in front of you, in the moment. The video stream is processed on the device and is not recorded.
  • Frames you keep are stored on your device, in the app’s own storage. They are not uploaded, backed up to us, or shared with anyone. Deleting the app deletes them.
  • Your settings — the sensitivity slider, vibration and sound on a find, and that you have read the disclaimer — are stored on the device.
  • No advertising and no tracking. If that ever changes, this policy and the app’s privacy labels will change first, and the change will be visible before the version that makes it ships.

What the app is not

Mushroom Pointer points at objects that may be mushrooms. It does not identify species and it makes no statement about whether anything is safe to eat. See the disclaimer shown when you first open the app.
